Corruption

Fear of the unknown is so strong that it can corrupt your mind into seeing things that are not really there. Growing up one of my biggest fears was getting up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. As the rest of my family sleeps though the night, I felt so helpless and alone. Going down a long hallway and having to turn a corner to get to the restroom took long enough for my mind to start wondering. A simple lamp by a window became a daemon, some shadows on the wall becomes something living. The only thing worse was having to walk all the way back.
